Has your indifference kept the anointing from you?
There are several names for the Holy Spirit in scripture: Holy Spirit, Spirit of God, Spirit of Christ.
The word Christ means: the Anointed One with the anointing which is the burden removing yoke destroying Power of God. When you are truly born-again, the Spirit of Christ comes into you and recreates your spirit in God. When you are filled with the Spirit and pray in other tongues, the Spirit of Christ comes upon you for service in God’s kingdom.
When you are born-again the Spirit of Christ enables you to obey the Word of God.
Ezekiel 36:26 NKJV “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.”
The Christ, the Anointed One with the anointing which is the burden removing yoke destroying Power of God, in you and upon you, isn’t for you to sit around watching TV. It is purposeful! You are to become a witness for Jesus the Christ, Jesus the Anointed One.
Acts 1:8 NKJV “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
The Lord empowers us to literally do the works of Jesus.
John 14:12-14 NKJV “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.”
Ephesians 3:20 NKJV “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.”
But when the Church (you) are insensitive to other believers, members of the Body of Christ, fellow Anointed Ones, you quench the Spirit of Christ.
1 Thessalonians 5:13-15 NKJV “Now we exhort you, brethren, warn those who are unruly, comfort the fainthearted, uphold the weak, be patient with all. See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all.
1 Thessalonians 19-22 NKJV “Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise prophecies.Test all things; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil.”
How do we quench the Spirit? #1 By involving ourselves in evil, living worldly, living in sin. #2 By not holding fast to what is good. #3 By despising prophecies.
When we live worldly, we literally make ourselves an enemy of God.
James 4:4-5 NKJV “Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, “The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously”?”
The Spirit of God yearns for us to act like Sons and Daughters of God. The entire creation eagerly awaits for the revealing of the Sons and Daughters of God.
Romans 8:19 NKJV “For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God.”
We can quench and grieve the Christ in us, the Christ in the Body of Christ, to the point that we have a Church Without Power.
How do I grieve, quench, stifeful the Spirit of Christ? By being a believer that operates in corrupt words, by being bitter, being angry and wrathful, speaking malice or evil to or about a fellow believer.
Ephesians 4:29-32 NKJV “Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.”
Royal Ones, if you have been involved in these things, you must stop! You must repent, turn away from these sins and turn back to God. You must forgive everyone who has ever harmed you. And ask for forgiveness in Jesus name!
If we have a problem with a believer or ministry, we are to go to them and speak to them privately, not bad mouth them, criticize them, in public or on the internet.
Don’t quench the Holy Spirit; do the opposite, create an environment for Him to come; make Him welcome!
Change your insensitivity into obedience to the Word of God. Allow the power of God to work in you and through you and through the church.
If you need to repent (uproot the seeds of sin that you have sown): turn from your sin, disobedience to the Word of God, and turn back to God, and make the choice to obey His Word; then ask for forgiveness in the name of Jesus, do it! Forgive everyone who has ever harmed you; forgive yourself for the hurt that you have done to others and to the heart of God.
