Job 2:9-10 KJV
“Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine integrity? curse God, and die.” “But he said unto her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips.”

Luke 22:31-32 KJV
“And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:”
“But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.”

Matthew 10:37-38 KJV
“He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.” “And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.”

Notes from the movie: American Gospel Christ Alone – It’s Amazing & important

Matthew 10:37, Job 1:8, 1:21, 2:9-10, Luke 22:31, Philippians 1:29

• Only God is good. Jesus was perfect and obedient to God the Father, yet suffered.
• God tests our faith, obedience and love.
• Faith put Job into his suffering.
• Job suffered because everything was going right in his life.
God has purposes in our suffering

• to humble us
• to conform us into the image of Christ
• to wean us off of the world
• to purify us
• to help us identify with other people who are suffering

God always hears your prayers. Have complete faith in him and his promises. Always pray in Jesus’ name and God will answer your prayer if it’s what is best for you, according to his perfect holy will.
