Jesus is not on the cross anymore, HE IS ALIVE!

John 20:1-18 NKJV 20 “Now on the first day of the week Mary Magdalene went to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and saw that the stone had been taken away from the tomb. 2 Then she ran and came to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and said to them, “They have taken away the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid Him.”

Why was Mary going to the tomb? It was the tradition of the Hebrews that the delicate hands of a woman would clean and prepare the face for burial.

Luke 24 NKJV “Now on the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they, and certain other women with them, came to the tomb bringing the spices which they had prepared.”

The women were coming to prepare the face of Jesus with the spices that they had prepared.
The disciple that Jesus loved as described here is John.

3 “Peter therefore went out, and the other disciple, and were going to the tomb. 4 So they both ran together, and the other disciple outran Peter and came to the tomb first.”

John outran the bigger Peter and got to the tomb first.

5 “And he, stooping down and looking in, saw the linen cloths lying there; yet he did not go in.”

John looked at the linen cloths that they had wrapped Jesus up in, he was shocked, and did not enter the tomb. What was there about those linen cloths that startled John?

6 “Then Simon Peter came, following him, and went into the tomb; and he saw the linen cloths lying there, 7 and the handkerchief that had been around His head, not lying with the linen cloths, but folded together in a place by itself. 8 Then the other disciple, who came to the tomb first, went in also; and he saw and believed.”

Something about these gave cloths literally shocked John and Peter. The grave cloths made Peter and John believe, beyond a shadow of doubt, that Jesus had risen form the dead. How was Jesus’ body prepared?

John 19:38 38 “After this, Joseph of Arimathea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly, for fear of the Jews, asked Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus; and Pilate gave him permission. So he came and took the body of Jesus. 39 And Nicodemus, who at first came to Jesus by night, also came, bringing a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about a hundred pounds. 40 Then they took the body of Jesus, and bound it in strips of linen with the spices, as the custom of the Jews is to bury. 41 Now in the place where He was crucified there was a garden, and in the garden a new tomb in which no one had yet been laid. 42 So there they laid Jesus, because of the Jews’ Preparation Day, for the tomb was nearby.”

The body of Jesus was prepared just like an Egyptian mummy. They took strips of linen dipped them in a mixture of myrrh and aloe and other spices. They wrapped up each toe, finger, arm and leg just like a mummy; across His chest the wrapping would have been several inches thick. When they were finished the wrapped body of Jesus weighed 100 pounds more with the wrapping.

Back to:
9 “For as yet they did not know the Scripture that He must rise again from the dead. 10 Then the disciples went away again to their own homes.”

Peter and John saw a mummy with fingers and toes, arms and legs and a face hole that was empty!!!! A complete mummy that was empty!! Praise the Lord forevermore!!

Continue with verse 11
11 “But Mary stood outside by the tomb weeping, and as she wept she stooped down and looked into the tomb. 12 And she saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain.”

Mary sees the empty bloody grave cloths lying between two angels. Jesus was the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. The Ark of the Covenant was a picture of the crucifixion of Jesus at the foundation of the world. There was gold on top and an angel on each end and the blood of the sacrifice was sprinkled between them. The Lord was revealing Jesus Christ crucified at the foundation of the world to the Hebrews. The entire Bible from beginning to end is the revealing of Jesus Christ and Him crucified and the entrance of the kingdom of God at the foundation of the world. Notice, Mary sees the same prophetic picture that the Ark represented.

13 “Then they said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping?” She said to them, “Because they have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid Him.”14 Now when she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, and did not know that it was Jesus. 15 Jesus said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking? “She, supposing Him to be the gardener, said to Him, “Sir, if You have carried Him away, tell me where You have laid Him, and I will take Him away.”

The gardeners in those days wore linen clothes. Jesus is dressed as a high priest and she didn’t recognize Him. In the Old Testament we understand that no one could touch the high priest in his linen clothes.

16 “Jesus said to her, “Mary!”
She turned and said to Him, “Rabboni!” (which is to say, Teacher).
17 Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.’”

Jesus as our High Priest had not ascended to Heaven and taken His Shed Blood to put on the Altar in Heaven, so Mary could not touch Him.

Jesus is not on the cross any more, He is not in the tomb any more. He is the Living God and He lives forevermore! He is the One and Only True God. All other gods are false gods.

I cover this subject in detail in my book: “The Bloody Doorway.”

Do you want to be saved from your sins? Repeat this prayer out loud: “Father in Heaven, I believe that Jesus is the Son of God that He died on the cross and rose from the dead on the 3rd day. His Shed Blood cleanses me of all my sin. I ask you Father to forgive me of all my sins, I forgive all those who have sinned against me. I ask Jesus to be Lord and Savior of my life and I will follow Him and honor Him all the days of my life and I will never change my mind. I pray this in Jesus Name!” Father, the cross of Christ and the shed Blood of Jesus also healed my body; therefore I receive my healing right now in Jesus Name!

Praise God forevermore!! I hope this short messages blesses you.

If this note pricks at your heart: repent, ask for forgiveness in Jesus name.

If YOU need to repent for any reason; (uproot the seeds of sin that you have sown) DO IT! YOU must turn from your sin, disobedience to the Word of God, and turn back to God, and make the choice to obey His Word; then ask for forgiveness in the name of Jesus! Forgive everyone who has ever harmed you; forgive yourself for the hurt that you have done to others and to the heart of God.
