LAST WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME, YEAR II: FRIDAY
Revelation 20:1
‘Then I saw an angel coming down from Heaven, holding in his hand the key of the abyss and a heavy chain.’ (Here, we know that God administers through His angel, in the power and working of the Holy Spirit. This angel is God’s representative as he acts exactly as directed and willed by God. This angel holds the key to the unfathomable pit of hell and this reveal that God is in control over Satan and this abyss of hell, as revealed by the ‘key’ and this is singular, so only one key to the main entrance of hell and he carries a heavy chain in order to administer God’s Justice over Satan. So, God could release or chain Satan as God deems it fit. Whatever God does is for the sake of His Love for human beings as this Ancient Serpent or Lucifer is only after God’s Spirit or His Breath in His children, and Satan knows that God’s most precious possessions are human beings whom God created in His Image and Likeness, so he takes revenge on God by destroying human beings, but once we died and are in Heaven, Satan has no power, right and authority over human souls and spirits who are saints in Heaven. Those in Purgatory still has remnants of Satan’s evil spirits within their human spiritual bodies, so when we refused or slow to repent, Satan would still have rights over our souls, because he could see lots of what are in these human spiritual bodies, belonged to them, so they wanted to take back what we give to them; thus these souls will lingered on in Purgatory until they fully repented, and with the Grace and Mercy of God, as Decrees by God through Christ, He can at any moments take us back to Himself.)
Verse 2 stated, ‘He seized the Dragon, that Ancient Serpent—that is, the Devil, or Satan—and chained him up a thousand years.’ (So, here we could see that these thousand years revealed to us that when Satan is chained, he could not do much or anything, as he would be helpless, so later on after the thousand years are over, he would be released. This revealed to us that the movements of Satan are charted by God at the discretion of God, so when God releases him, then he could do damages to the children of God. So, we need to know that God is indeed using Satan to administer His chastisements and punishments on the children whom He loved dearly, because without His loving chastisements, we would never repent and live Righteous and Holy Life, when it is essential for all saints-to-be, because no stain, spot or trace of sins could enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Those who loved God and are meant to be His children in Heaven, although being chastised in great pain and suffering, but they still turned to God and loved Him, as they would cry out to God with their hands raising up to God, as they struggled in the ’sea’ where they joined Satan, because they walked away from God. All of us who walked away from God will enter into this ‘sea’ where we would be struggling as Satan wants to drown us.)
Verse 3 stated, ‘The angel threw him into the abyss, locked it, and sealed it, so that he could not deceive the nations any more until the thousand years were over. After that he must be set loose for a little while.’ (Here, although we could see the image of Satan as the Dragon, and he was extremely fearful to our sight as though he is more powerful than God, but the truth is that he is lame and helpless before God and only wait for God to release him, if not he would be in chain and prison. So, if God decided to lock him for the thousand years, they would not have any authority and power to deceive the human race on earth. Therefore, as children of God, we need to stay within the Kingdom of God on earth, because in the Presence of God, Satan is helpless and could not do anything. Indeed, he would stay as far as possible from the Presence of God as his body would be consumed by the Fire and Glory of God, just like we exposed bacteria or viruses to the sunlight; these will kill these bacteria and viruses, so too in God’s Presence, evil spirits cannot survive.)
Verse 4 stated, ‘Then I saw thrones, and those who sat on them were given the power to judge.’ (Here, we need to recall the Words of Jesus Christ to the Apostles, whereby the Apostles will be given thrones by the side of Jesus Christ to judge the Twelve Tribes of Israel, and these saints-to-be had spread to people of all nations, so the New Twelve Tribes of Israel are children of God in their entirety. God through Christ allocates seats of authorities and powers to those who share in His Authority and Power on earth, so too God allocates angels to do His works, as well. Therefore in the Kingdom of Heaven, all of us have roles to play, but when we entered the new heavens and earth, there will no longer be any thrones of Judgments as all those who were judged would all be condemned to hell forever, so the new heavens and earth together with the Kingdom of God in Heaven and on earth will be God’s Kingdom of Love and Glory where all creations in the new earth and heavens would perpetuate and there will no longer be any perishable things in the new heavens and earth as physical will be totally the reflections of the Spirit of God within these physical creations, things and beings.)
‘They had not worshipped the beast or its images, nor had they received the mark of the beast on their foreheads or their hands.’ (So, here those who belonged to Satan will have the mark of the beast over their foreheads and hands, so this revealed to us that those who worshipped this beast belonged to him and would fill their heads with thoughts of this beast and they will acts according to what filled their hearts and minds, so instead of the children of God having the Mark of God’s Ownership on us, by the Presence of the Holy Spirit in our foreheads, hearts and souls and our hands too would be marked with the Holy Spirit as well, but the slaves, objects, subjects or children of Satan would have the mark of the beast instead, so if our whole beings are filled with the beast’s spirits, we would belong entirely to him, therefore God will have no regret and would not mourn for those who belonged to Satan, as God loses nothing, if these souls sink with Satan as what belonged to God would be totally removed from these human spiritual bodies.)
‘They came to life and ruled as kings with Christ for a thousand years.’ (We know that the Apostles together with John the Baptist, together with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, so too Moses and Elijah together with David; these all would be raised to be in God’s Kingdom and ruled with Christ, so too those of us who lived after the First Pentecost till the End of Time, would continue to be raised by God through Christ to take up roles in God’s Kingdom as partners with Christ to rule over the children of God, especially those who are still alive in this world.)
Verse 5 stated, (The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were over.) We know that there are countless numbers of human beings who would have to enter Purgatory before they were cleansed and entered Heaven, so the thousand of years is a symbol of where we are still struggling in the ‘sea’ or with Satan, as it is only through the Grace of God in His Mercy and Love that we could be released from the hold of Satan as stated in the thousand years. The Thousand years are about our struggle to be cleansed and detached from our sins, so that we could be released to enter Heaven.
Verse 11 stated, ‘Then I saw a great white Throne and the One who sits on it (this is the Glorious Son of Man, our Lord Jesus Christ). Earth and heaven fled from His Presence and were seen no more (this is the End of Time when the Glorious Son of Man appeared on the cloud, the whole physical creations disappeared and only remnant from this vast creation is the resurrected or glorified and transformed human physical bodies and these bodies immediate join the human spiritual bodies, for those who had died, so these glorified saints in Heaven will descend with the Glorious Son of Man, as behind and along side of His Throne as He comes down, would see great uncountable numbers of saints with their resurrected bodies, while those still alive in this world would have their bodies transformed instantly, so this is like instant physical death and immediately glorified and transformed to ascend to join the Heavenly saints in Heaven).
Verse 12 stated, ‘And I saw the dead, great and small alike, standing before the Throne (here, we know that all saints are neither small or great in their appearance, but all will be rich and glorious before the Sight and Presence of God as the entireties of the riches of God’s Kingdom flows into all the saints, but here great and small revealed to us that when they were in this world, their statuses before human beings, whether they were materially rich or poor, but when they become saints, there is no longer great or small, all will be great, glorious and splendid as our Lord Jesus Christ is).
‘Books were opened, and then another Book was opened, the Book of the Living (so, here we could see ‘Book’ in singular representing the Book of those who are saints and those who would be saints, then there are ‘books’ in plural, representing those whose names written in these books will be those who would not inherit eternal Life with God through Christ). The dead were judged according to what they had done, as recorded in the books (so, here, unlike those names written in the ‘Book of the Living’ those names written in the books of the dead would be judged by what they had done, or divine Justice is administered to them, so most of them would go to hell, if God administers Divine Justice, because this would mean that if we refused to forgive others, God would do likewise to us. If we do not love others, God will do likewise. If we do not show compassion on others, God will do likewise. But those in the Book of the Living, will not be judged with Divine Justice, because they belonged to Christ and strive to live their lives according to the Teachings of Christ and the Laws of God. They were at war and battled with Satan as they hated sins within their bodies, so with these realities, God shows Mercy by not judging them, so He skips judgments on these little and humble souls of human beings, and raised them to His Kingdom in Heaven).
Verse 13 stated, ‘Then the sea gave up its dead (so, here the sea is the abode of Satan in hell and on Judgment Day, the sea will give up all who are in this abode, as commanded by God through the Glorious Son of Man, so Satan, his devils and all human accomplices with the mark of the beast will have to come out from hell to stand before the Court of Judgment by the Glorious Son of Man, before they would finally be totally thrown to hell forever) they held (retained). And all were judged according to what they had done (this is Judgment with Divine Justice).
Verse 14 stated, ‘Then death and the world of the dead were thrown into the lake of fire (death is the penalty for our sins, so we are supposed to be immortal even as human beings, if Adam and Eve did not fall into sins, but we all fall with Adam and Eve, so death reigned over all human beings as we lived in the law God gave for our sinful state of beings. All these punishments together with all those who are spiritually dead, would all be thrown into the lake of fire. Therefore, when all that belonged to Satan and the punishments were thrown to hell forever, then those who survive would be those who would be given Mercy above Justice by God. Then all children of God in their glorious bodies, souls and human spirits will descend to the new heavens and earth, to take possessions of what God had prepared for those who would live forever. These are the fruits of the Paschal Passion of Christ. This is what Jesus Christ is waiting for when we said in Luke 22:16, “For I tell you, I will not eat it again until it finds fulfillment in the Kingdom of God”
Amen.
