Repentance brings victory Before the Hebrews went into the city of Jericho, God told Joshua that all of the spoil from the city, EVERYTHING of value

Repentance brings victory

Before the Hebrews went into the city of Jericho, God told Joshua that all of the spoil from the city, EVERYTHING of value, was to go into the treasury of the temple.

Joshua 6:17-19 NKJV “Now the city shall be doomed by the Lord to destruction, it and all who are in it. Only Rahab the harlot shall live, she and all who are with her in the house, because she hid the messengers that we sent. And you, by all means abstain from the accursed things, lest you become accursed when you take of the accursed things, and make the camp of Israel a curse, and trouble it. But all the silver and gold, and vessels of bronze and iron, are consecrated to the Lord; they shall come into the treasury of the Lord .”

Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden were not to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. This in effect was the tithe of the Garden. They could eat of all the other trees but NOT the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

When Adam and Eve ate of the tree they in effect ate the tithe that was set aside for God. God has a set foundational law in the Kingdom of God: the Law of Seedtime and Harvest.

Genesis 8:22 NKJV “While the earth remains, Seedtime and harvest, Cold and heat, Winter and summer, And day and night Shall not cease.”

When Adam and Eve ate of the tree, they disobeyed the Word of God, they sinned before the Lord. This initiated the Law of Seedtime and Harvest in their lives. Their sin caused them to be removed from the garden and separated from the blessings and promises of God.

When God told Joshua that all the spoils were to go into the temple treasury, this again was the tithe, the first fruits. God had planned to allow the Hebrews to keep ALL the spoils from all the remaining cities that they would conquer.

But one Hebrew man took some of the spoils and buried them in the floor of his tent. This unfortunately initiated the Law of Seedtime and Harvest for the whole nation of Israel.

Galatians 6:7-10 NKJV “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.”

When you sin, disobey the Word of God, the Law of Seedtime and Harvest is automatically initiated. It will cause sicknesses, disease, pain, defects, and dysfunction to come on your flesh.

If we sow good seeds, obey and perform the Word of God, we will reap a good harvest.

Back to Joshua 7:1 NKJV “But the children of Israel committed a trespass regarding the accursed things, for Achan the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took of the accursed things; so the anger of the Lord burned against the children of Israel.”

Every pastor must understand this. If you have one person on a prayer team that is not consecrated before the Lord, in unrepentant sin, then the Lord will not be present, He will not hear the prayer. His anointing will depart. It is the same for all areas of ministry: the praise and worship team; the board of the church; the church leadership: elders, decons, pastor and their spouse, etc.

One man, Achan, caused the presence of the Lord to be lifted off the Hebrews. One man out of 3 million people!

The next city that Hebrews fought defeated them because the presence of the Lord did not go with them, due to the sin of Achan.

Joshua 7: NKJV “So about three thousand men went up there from the people, but they fled before the men of Ai. And the men of Ai struck down about thirty-six men, for they chased them from before the gate as far as Shebarim, and struck them down on the descent; therefore the hearts of the people melted and became like water.”

Joshua 7:6 NKJV “Then Joshua tore his clothes, and fell to the earth on his face before the ark of the Lord until evening, he and the elders of Israel; and they put dust on their heads.”

Joshua did what most Christians today do: he blamed the Lord for the defeat.

But God straightened him out.

10-11. “So the Lord said to Joshua: “Get up! Why do you lie thus on your face? Israel has sinned, and they have also transgressed My covenant which I commanded them. For they have even taken some of the accursed things, and have both stolen and deceived; and they have also put it among their own stuff.”

God told Joshua to get the sin out of the camp of the Israelites. Notice that disobedience to the Word of God, sin, is equal to breaking covenant with the Lord.

12. “Therefore the children of Israel could not stand before their enemies, but turned their backs before their enemies, because they have become doomed to destruction. Neither will I be with you anymore, unless you destroy the accursed from among you.”

Israel MUST get the sin OUT!

Joshua 7:19-22 NKJV “Now Joshua said to Achan, “My son, I beg you, give glory to the Lord God of Israel, and make confession to Him, and tell me now what you have done; do not hide it from me.” And Achan answered Joshua and said, “Indeed I have sinned against the Lord God of Israel, and this is what I have done: When I saw among the spoils a beautiful Babylonian garment, two hundred shekels of silver, and a wedge of gold weighing fifty shekels, I coveted them and took them. And there they are, hidden in the earth in the midst of my tent, with the silver under it.” So Joshua sent messengers, and they ran to the tent; and there it was, hidden in his tent, with the silver under it. And Joshua said, “Why have you troubled us? The Lord will trouble you this day.”

25. “So all Israel stoned him with stones; and they burned them with fire after they had stoned them with stones.”

After Israel got the sin out of the camp, symbolic of a Christian repenting today and asking for forgiveness in the name of Jesus, the presence of the Lord went with them again.

Joshua 8:1 NKJV “Now the Lord said to Joshua: “Do not be afraid, nor be dismayed; take all the people of war with you, and arise, go up to Ai. See, I have given into your hand the king of Ai, his people, his city, and his land.”

24-25 “And it came to pass when Israel had made an end of slaying all the inhabitants of Ai in the field, in the wilderness where they pursued them, and when they all had fallen by the edge of the sword until they were consumed, that all the Israelites returned to Ai and struck it with the edge of the sword. So it was that all who fell that day, both men and women, were twelve thousand—all the people of Ai.”

Many believers don’t understand why God had the Hebrews kill everybody in the cities that they conquered. It was simply the Law of Seedtime and Harvest. The people were wicked, practicing evil, all kinds of sexual immorality, homosexuality etc.

Deuteronomy 9:4 NKJV “Do not think in your heart, after the Lord your God has cast them out before you, saying, ‘Because of my righteousness the Lord has brought me in to possess this land’; but it is because of the wickedness of these nations that the Lord is driving them out from before you.”

The Law of Seedtime and Harvest is automatically initiated when we sin, disobey the Word of God. ONLY repentance, asking for forgiveness in the name of Jesus, and being cleansed by the Blood of Jesus can stop it.

There are many false teachers today saying that a born-again believer does not have to repent of there sin. Unfortunately this teaching is from Satan himself. The law of Seedtime and Harvest is always initiated when we sin.

There are many false teachers today that say you do not have to tithe that, that is the Old Testament. But unfortunately God is not schizophrenic, He does not change. The Word of God was completed in the beginning of time (John 1:1). And Yahweh Himself is the Word.

Jesus and Yahweh are the Word of God from the first word in Genesis to the last word in Revelation.

John 1:14 Phillips Translation “So the word of God became a human being and lived among us. We saw his splendour (the splendour as of a father’s only son), full of grace and truth.”

GOD DOES NOT CHANGE!

Malachi 3:6 NKJV “For I am the Lord, I do not change…”

Hebrews 13:8 NKJV “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”

Royal Friends, it is time to get off the milk of the Word of God. It is time to embrace the truth of the Word, time to consume the meat/solid food of the Word of God.

Hebrews 5:12: NKJV “For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food.”

We are in the beginning of the greatest move of God to ever come on the earth. If you want to be a partaker of this end time mighty revival, you will have to make the choice to obey the Word of God. And when you fall short, you must repent and ask for forgiveness in the name of Jesus.

If you need to repent (uproot the seeds of sin that you have sown): turn from your sin, disobedience to the Word of God, and turn back to God, and make the choice to obey His Word; then ask for forgiveness in the name of Jesus, do it! Forgive everyone who has ever harmed you; forgive yourself for the hurt that you have done to others and to the heart of God.

Pastors must stop preaching a watered down, seeker friendly Gospel. They must embrace the truth of the Word. If not, you and they will be held accountable.

James 3:1 NKJV “My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment.”
