The Word of God
Did you ever wonder why the Lord God gave us His Word?
Proverbs 30:5 NKJV “Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him.”
God is His Word (John 1:1). Notice His Word is a shield, but ONLY if you put your trust in it, obey it!
Adam and Eve would have never fallen if they simply obeyed the WORD OF GOD. God said “Don’t eat of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.”
Notice the Word was a shield for Adam and Eve; It protected them from the devil. If they obeyed the WORD it was a shield against the devil. When they disobeyed, put their shield down, they were prey for the devil.
You must understand, Royal Friends, NOTHING HAS CHANGED, IT IS THE SAME TODAY!
Adam and Eve had every need met in abundance. The Word of God shielded them from every thing negative and evil.
Psalms 119:133 “Lord GOD, guide my steps by your Word, so I will not be overcome by evil.”
John 10:10 NKJV “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”
Jesus came to give every born-again believer an abundant life. But most don’t receive it because their shield is down! They are not obeying the Word of God.
When you obey, you step into abundat life. When you disobey you get the only other alternative: steal, kill and destroy. That’s why the Word of God tells us to choose life.
Deuteronomy 30:19-20 NKJV “I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live; that you may love the Lord your God, that you may OBEY His voice, and that you may cling to Him, for He is your life and the length of your days…”
How do you choose life? Love and OBEY the Lord.
His Word helps those who are stumbling through life and in their service to the Lord.
Job 4:4 NKJV “Your words have upheld him who was stumbling, And you have strengthened the feeble knees”
It can only keep you from stumbling if you choose to obey it.
His Word strengthens us when we are under pressure.
Psalm 119:28 NKJV “My soul melts from heaviness; Strengthen me according to Your word.”
God leads us into our destiny/calling, when we read, study and obey the Word of God.
Psalm 119:105 NKJV “Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.”
Psalm 119:134 NKJV “Direct my steps by Your word, And let no iniquity have dominion over me.”
The Word of God will deliver us out of life’s difficulties.
Psalm 119:170 NKJV “Let my supplication come before You; Deliver me according to Your word.”
The Word of God will revive us, when we have fallen out of love with Jesus; bring us back to life.
Psalm 119:154 NKJV “Plead my cause and redeem me; Revive me according to Your word.”
How can you clean yourself and draw near to the Lord?
Psalm 119: NKJV “How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word.”
Friends this list goes on and on; but I think that you are getting the idea.
Make the choice to believe in, trust in and obey the Word of God; act in faith.
Now Royal Friends, take heed to the words that Joshua spoke to God’s people just before he died.
Joshua 23:14-17 NKJV “Behold, this day I am going the way of all the earth. And you know in all your hearts and in all your souls that not one thing has failed of all the good things which the Lord your God spoke concerning you. All have come to pass for you; not one word of them has failed. Therefore it shall come to pass, that as all the good things have come upon you which the Lord your God promised you, so the Lord will bring upon you all harmful things, until He has destroyed you from this good land which the Lord your God has given you. When you have transgressed the covenant of the Lord your God, which He commanded you, and have gone and served other gods, and bowed down to them, then the anger of the Lord will burn against you, and you shall perish quickly from the good land which He has given you.”
If you need to repent for any other reason, (uproot the seeds of sin that you have sown) DO IT! YOU must turn from your sin, disobedience to the Word of God, and turn back to God, and make the choice to obey His Word; then ask for forgiveness in the name of Jesus! Forgive everyone who has ever harmed you; forgive yourself for the hurt that you have done to others and to the heart of God.
What enables you to choose to obey the Word of God.
Psalm 119: NKJV “Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You.”
