What in the world are you thinking?

We receive in this life what we have sown in our mind, what we believe; what we think on. What we think will become what we speak. It is extremely important to plant seeds of faith in our thinking. We must put the Word of God in our thinking.

Matthew 8:13 NKJV “Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go your way; and as you have believed, so let it be done for you.” And his servant was healed that same hour.”

The Centurion in this story believed that what ever Jesus spoke would come to pass. He understood authority.

Matthew 85-10: NKJV “Now when Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to Him, pleading with Him, 6 saying, “Lord, my servant is lying at home paralyzed, dreadfully tormented.”
7 And Jesus said to him, “I will come and heal him.”
8 The centurion answered and said, “Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed. 9 For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”
10 When Jesus heard it, He marveled, and said to those who followed, “Assuredly, I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel!”

Notice what Jesus said in verse 10 “Assuredly, I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel!”

What is this centurion’s great faith, what are the elements of his faith?

#1 He understood authority. No one has authority unless they are under authority. A policeman or woman can walk out onto a highway had put their hand up and an 18 wheeler that could easily run over them, stops. Why? The police officer has authority because he/she is under the authority of the Mayor and City Council. The police officer has the backing of the city.

#2 The centurion understood that Jesus had authority.

#3 The Centurion knew that a man/woman of authority can speak and delegate. Those who are under their authority must do what they say. What did the centurion say to Jesus? “But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed. 9 For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”

#4 The centurion came to Jesus and he SPOKE what he desired. He spoke his faith: “But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed.”

He said just speak it and it will be done. Jesus is the Word of God. All the promises of God have already been spoken! Do YOU put the Word of God in YOUR mouth? Do you declare it over yourself? Do you command your body whole and well? Do you command provision to come to you? Do you command a new job to come to you?

All through scripture we see the authority that the Lord/God has. He spoke all of creation into existence. Hebrews 11:3 NKJV “By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.”

Jesus made it clear to His disciples that He had all authority. The truth is, He had this authority from the foundation of the world when He was crucified (Revelation 13:8). That’s why He could speak and create everything. That is why he could come into the devil’s house and exercise authority. He was doing just what God wanted man to do from the beginning of creation.

Matthew 28:18-20 NKJV “And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

Then Jesus turns around and gives His authority to man. Not just any man, a man or woman or child who would make the choice to obey Him. In order for us to have authority we must place ourselves under the authority of Jesus; under the authority of the Word of God. This is called faith!

The word faith means to believe in, trust in and obey the Word of God. Jesus is the Word of God (John 1:14).

Luke 10:19 NKJV “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”

God gave His authority to man/woman in the very beginning of creation. Genesis 1:28 NKJV “Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

The word subdue is the Hebrew word kabash and it means: to tread down, to conquer, bring into bondage, force, keep under, bring into subjection

The word fruitful is the Hebrew word parah and it means: to bear fruit, grow, increase, bring forth fruit, make fruitful.

The word dominion is the Hebrew word radah and it means: to tread down, to subjugate subdue, to crumble, to walk on, to prevail against, to take possession of, to prevail against.

God told His first man and woman to dominate everything on the earth, conquer it, force it into subjection, take possession of it and expand His Kingdom. That dominion and power to subdue also meant the devil. They were to take down the devils kingdom and expand the Kingdom of God!

(Matthew 11:12 NKJV “And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.”)

We are to expand the Kingdom of God by force! The force of the Gospel!

Joshua, a man, understood that he was under the authority of God and that God had given him God’s authority (Genesis 1:28).

Joshua 10:12- NKJV 12 “Then Joshua spoke to the Lord in the day when the Lord delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel:
“Sun, stand still over Gibeon;
And Moon, in the Valley of Aijalon.”
13 So the sun stood still,
And the moon stopped,
Till the people had revenge
Upon their enemies.”

Joshua stopped the rotation of the earth around the sun and the rotation of the moon around the earth!!!

This is just a man who believed in God. He believed in the Word of God! He chose to obey God!

When a person in the Old Testament obeyed the Word of God, they were in essence following Jesus. Jesus is the Spoken Word of God in the flesh.

Elijah spoke and stopped the rain for three years! He was just a man who believed and obeyed God.

Christians today are afraid to even pray for someone or declare things in their life. Joshua, a man, commanded the sun to stand still! (Job 22:28 NKJV “You will also declare a thing, And it will be established for you; So light will shine on your ways.”). We must pray and declare in the name of Jesus. (John 14:13 NKJV “And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.”).

We are to exercise our authority in Christ! God gave us this authority. Jesus went through the torment of the cross to GIVE YOU THIS AUTHORITY!

Matthew 9:8 NKJV “Now when the multitudes saw it, they marveled and glorified God, who had given such power to men.”

The people were amazed that Jesus, as a man, could cast demons out of two demonized men. Jesus gave man this power. Any man who would choose to believe and obey God has always had this power.

Matthew 10:1 NKJV “And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease.”

Jesus gave us the Power of the Holy Spirit to ensure that we had all the power that we need so we would go and be witnesses for Him.

Acts 1:8 NKJV “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

When you are born again and then filled with the Holy Spirit and pray in other tongues. The Spirit of the Lord comes upon you and gives you power!

Believer! When, tell me when, you will start exercising the authority that Jesus died to give you? When will you act in faith: believe in, trust in and obey the Word of God?

Believers have one purpose: it is to glorify God. When we exercise our authority and faith it brings glory to God. (John 14:13 NKJV “And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.”).

Royal One, what are you thinking? Are you filling your mind with faith? Are you filling it with the Word of God? What are you speaking? Are you speaking the Word of God over every aspect of your life? What are you subduing? Are you attacking the devil’s kingdom and expanding the Kingdom of God by violence?

If you need to repent for any reason; (uproot the seeds of sin that you have sown) DO IT! You must turn from your sin, disobedience to the Word of God, and turn back to God, and make the choice to obey His Word; then ask for forgiveness in the name of Jesus! Forgive everyone who has ever harmed you; forgive yourself for the hurt that you have done to others and to the heart of God.
