When the Word and Spirit come together

A while back I wrote a message on “the person of the Holy Spirit.” While writing that teaching the Lord brought to my remembrance a prophecy by Smith Wigglesworth. During his ministry, Smith had hundreds of miracles including raising 13 people from the dead. God also used hiim in prophecy. A gentleman ask Smith one time why the Lord used him so powerfully in ministry? His answer was simple and yet, quite profound. It goes something like this: “why sir, I read the Bible, I believe what it said, so I act on it.”

Smith Wigglesworth, a mighty man of God prophesied in 1947 just before he died:

“When the word and the Spirit come together, there will be the biggest move of the Holy Spirit that the nations, and indeed, the world have ever seen. It will mark the beginning of a revival that will eclipse anything that has been witnessed within these shores, even the Wesleyan and Welsh revivals of former years.”

I’ve been thinking on this prophecy for several days now.

Let’s look at Genesis 1:1-2 NKJV “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.”

The Spirit of God was hovering.
#1 The word Spirit is the Hebrew word: ‘Ruach’ and it means: breath of God; the BREATH OF THE LORD’S MOUTH CREATING WORDS (God speaking!). Notice Royal Friends, a person must be able to breath in order to speak! Speaking is caused by breath/air passing over our vocal cords. The immortal breath of God, ‘immortal Ruach’, our spirit, returns to the Lord when we die.

#2 the word God is the Hebrew word: Elohim and it means God; the God of Creation; it is in plural form (it could imply Father, Son and Holy Spirit all working together.) It is the most common Hebrew word that is used for ‘God’..

#3 hovering is from the Hebrew word: ‘rachaph’ and it means to move, shake, flutter.

We know from scripture that the Father, Elohim and Jesus, Yeshua Hamashiach and the Holy Spirit, were all working together to create.

John 1:1-3 NKJV “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.”

Jesus was in the beginning with God. Jesus is the Word of God in the flesh. Notice, the Spirit or breath of God creating words, was also there: moving or shaking the deep.

Simplisticaly: God spoke by His breath (the Spirit of God), Jesus is the spoken Word and the Holy Spirit (God’s breath) started creating.

Notice friends, the breath of God, the Spirit of God, and the Word of God were in unison: working so close together that one really can’t tell them apart. God had to breath, release His breath, in order to speak words.

God created the heavens and the earth. He created the sun and the moon. He created trillions upon trillions of galaxies each contain trillions upon trillions of stars, planets and moons. God created ALL life on the earth. He created an atmosphere for living things.

Please notice: Creation came because of the breath (God’s Spirit) and His spoken word (Jesus) working as One, (the WORD and the SPIRIT working TOGETHER.

Now let’s go back and look at Smith Wigglesworth’s prophecy again.

Where and how does a believer get the Holy Spirit? When we are born-again the Holy Spirit also known as the Christ or Spirit of Christ, comes into our spirit and recreates it into the Spirit of God. We are back in the image and likeness of God. (Now, our flesh and our soul: mind, emotions and will are not yet in the image of God)

2 Corinthians 5:17-18 NKJV “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation.”

This is the miracle of our Salvation. We are born-again, recreated and placed back in the position of Adam before the fall. The real us, our spirit, is seated in Heavenly places in Christ Jesus.

But we must have the power of the Spirit to do the works of Jesus. (John 14:12 NKJV “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.”)

When Jesus came in the form of a man, He needed the power of the Holy Spirit to work His ministry.

Matthew 3:16 NKJV “When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him.”

What happened when Jesus was filled with the Holy Spirit?

The Word of God and the Spirit of God, the Christ, were again joined together as One.

Acts 10:36-38 NKJV “The word which God sent to the children of Israel, preaching peace through Jesus Christ— He is Lord of all—that word you know, which was proclaimed throughout all Judea, and began from Galilee after the baptism which John preached: how GOD ANOINTED JESUS OF NAZARETH WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT AND WITH POWER, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.”

The power of creation, the Word of God and the Spirit of God joined back together. Jesus was now endued with POWER for the works of His ministry.

Yahweh, the Word of God, became flesh. When He did we called Him Yeshua, Yahweh Saves. But He humbled Himself and came as a man and left the Spirit of Power in heaven. (John 1:1; John 1:14). Yahweh, in the form of Yeshua, humbled Himself and submitted Himself to the man He had created.

Philippians 2:5-8 NKJV “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.”

When the Lord was baptized by John the Baptist, the Holy Spirit descended upon Jesus, and the Spirit of God was now joined again with the Word of God. The Power of creation was now resident in Jesus.

Well pastor Glenn, when does a born-again believer who’s Spirit has been recreated in God join up with the Christ, the Holy Spirit for ministry.

After Jesus was raised from the dead and before He ascended into heaven, He told His already born-again Apostles and disciples to wait in Jerusalem for the baptism of the Holy Spirit and Power.

Acts 1:4-5, 8 NKJV “And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,” He said, “you have heard from Me; for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.” 8. But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

The disciples and Apostles were full of the Word of God. They believed that Jesus was their Lord and Savior and that He had been raised from the dead. They had spent 3 1/2 years, day and night listening to the teachings of Jesus.

When the Holy Spirit came upon them, they were endued with the Power of creation. The Spirit and the Word of God joined back together.

What happened when the Word of God in them was united with the Spirit of God?

Acts 5:14-15 NKJV “And believers were increasingly added to the Lord, multitudes of both men and women, so that they brought the sick out into the streets and laid them on beds and couches, that at least the shadow of Peter passing by might fall on some of them. Also a multitude gathered from the surrounding cities to Jerusalem, bringing sick people and those who were tormented by unclean spirits, and they were all healed.”

The disciples and Apostles walked in the Power of creation.

What is the only evidence of being filled with the Holy Spirit and power.

Acts 2:2-4 NKJV “And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”

Royal Friends, when believers who are filled with the Holy Spirit, with the evidence of speaking in other tongues, become full of the Word of God and allow their words to be formed by the breath of God, the Holy Spirit, the power of creation will be released on the earth by the Body of Christ.

God is just now, beginning to poor out His glory. As He does, I believe the the Holy Spirit will fall on entire congregations and that every born-again believer will be filled with the Holy Spirit and Power. The Word and the Spirit will be one again and the God-breathed words will unite with the Spirit and signs and wonders will occur everywhere, all over the world. The end time harvest will be brought in!

The Church at large has resisted the infilling of the Holy Spirit. Stephen told the religious leaders of the day that they too resisted the Holy Spirit. But God! God is coming!

Acts 7:51 NKJV “ You stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears! You always resist the Holy Spirit; as your fathers did, so do you.”

The prophecy of Smith Wigglesworth will be fulfilled.

If YOU need to repent for any reason; (uproot the seeds of sin that you have sown) DO IT! YOU must turn from your sin, disobedience to the Word of God, and turn back to God, and make the choice to obey His Word; then ask for forgiveness in the name of Jesus! Forgive everyone who has ever harmed you; forgive yourself for the hurt that you have done to others and to the heart of God.

I also have dreams where I’m going to Heaven or Hell. Honestly, I want to be forgiven and go to Heaven. I seek God’s forgiveness all the time. I feel ashamed for my sins. I even feel bad for not worshipping our Lord. I put technology and other things before Him. I know that’s a sin. I know our world is closer and closer to ending, but we don’t know exactly when Jesus will return. There’s already blasphemy in churches. I don’t know if God forgives me, but I feel it in my soul. I am from a Christian family. I love bands such as NICKELBACK and Parmalee. I know we go to Hell if we accept the mark of the beast. I want to go to Heaven. Not take the mark. I feel ashamed saying I hate God. I feel ashamed of homosexuals who don’t see the difference between lust and love. But I can’t judge them. God said love has a gender. Man and woman, not man/man, not woman/woman. My whole family knows what the Bible said. Spanking is a form of discipline, not abuse. Yeah, Jesus died for our sins, but that doesn’t mean He will forgive blasphemy. Or accepting the mark of the beast. Not even being homosexual. One night, I dreamt that I went to Heaven. That is why I feel forgiven. I could be right or wrong. I want to get right with God. I want to serve him only. Not serve sin, or Satan. You cannot serve two masters. Only one. There is only one God. There is a lot more people going to Hell than people going to Heaven. Even my mom said most people go to Hell once they die. This isn’t to scare you, but to inform you. In my soul, I feel God forgives me. My mind says otherwise. I’m not sure which one to believe.

I have and I feel ashamed of myself for the way I keep sinning. Like my father, I learned to blame God and other people for my wrong choices, wrong decisions. Over the past few years of my life, since I was almost 20, I think I have committed blasphemy by blaming God and others for the wrong decisions I make. I curse Him out when something doesn’t go my way, the way I plan or intend. Everyday, I feel shame for it. I also lie, manipulate, be lazy, overeat, don’t study the Bible right. I convinced myself as a kid that I know what the Bible says and don’t need to study all of it. The fact is, I do not. I know what Satan the Devil is. As well as Jesus Christ. I know how life on Earth began. We are spiritual beings experiencing life in flesh.
