โœ๏ธ WORDS OF WISDOM

๐Ÿ“– Ephesians 2:18-19
[18] for through Him we both have our access in one Spirit to the Father. [19] So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of God’s householdโ€ฆ

๐Ÿ“– Efeso 2:18-19

BIBLICAL INSIGHTS:
โ˜๏ธEph. 2:18 โ€” access in one Spirit to the Father. No sinner has any right or worthiness in himself for access to God, but believers have been granted that right through faith in Christโ€™s sacrificial death (cf. Eph 3:12; Ro 5:2). The resources of the Trinity belong to believers the moment they receive Christ, and the Holy Spirit presents them before the heavenly throne of God the Father, where they are welcome to come with boldness at any time. The Holy Spirit calls for all to come confidently before Godโ€™s throne to receive mercy and grace through Jesus Christ (cf. Heb 7:25; Heb 10:22; Mt 27:51
โ˜๏ธEph. 2:19 โ€” FELLOW CITIZENS WITH THE SAINTS. Godโ€™s kingdom is made up of the people from all time who have trusted in Him. There are no strangers, foreigners, or second-class citizens there (cf. Php 3:20)โ€ฆ OF GODโ€™S HOUSEHOLD. Redeemed sinners not only become heavenly citizens but also members of Godโ€™s own family. The Father bestows on believers the same infinite love He gives His Son (cf. Heb 3:6). Human parents can bestow their love, resources, and inheritance on an adopted child, but not their own distinct characteristics. But God miraculously gives His own nature to those whom He has elected and who have trusted in Christ. He makes them His children in the image of His divine Son, giving them not just Christโ€™s riches and blessings but also His very nature (cf. Jn 15:15; Ro 8:15).
โ˜๏ธAs believers in Christ we plead His righteousness. As Christians we come to God in the name of Jesus. We are not worthy to gather up the crumbs under His table but we can boldly approach the throne of grace because we appeal to Christ’s worthiness and call on His righteousness. We petition the Father through the precious blood of His only begotten Son and we approach the throne of grace in the name of Jesus – for there is no other name given among men through Whom we have access to God.
โ˜๏ธIt is by grace through faith in Christ’s redeeming blood that we have been brought near to God and been given peace with Him. It is believing on Christ’s finished work at Calvary that we have been reconciled to the Fatherโ€ฆ in one body through the crossโ€ฆ so that now there is neither Jew nor Gentile, male or female, young or old slave or free.
โ˜๏ธIt is by trusting in the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ the Righteous, that we have access by one Spirit to the Father and can boldly draw near to the throne of God, confident that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
โ˜๏ธBut there is further, glorious access that each born-again believer has to the Fatherโ€ฆ through the Son, as we abide in Him and He in usโ€ฆ for He is our heavenly Mediator. Jesus is seated on the right hand of the Majesty on Highโ€ฆ continuously interceding for us and pleading our case to our Father in heaven โ€” so that we may remain in fellowship with the Son and enjoy sweet communion with our heavenly Father.
โ˜๏ธWe approach the Father through the Son and we have this incredible access through the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit, for greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world. As we reflect on what Christ has done for us and as we contemplate what the Father has graciously given to sinners, who are deserving of hell – should not the soul of every blood-bought child of God thrill with grateful thanks and never-ending praiseโ€ฆ knowing that it is through Christ alone that we have access by one Spirit to the Father – for ever and ever, Amen. ๐Ÿ™ Abba Father, it is by the grace of God that I am what I am – a blood-bought child of God with free access into Your presence to find grace to help in time of need. Thank You that Christ paid the full price for my sin and willingly gave up His life so that I might live eternally. Thank You that todayโ€ฆ He is in heaven, interceding for me. And thank You that I have Your indwelling Holy Spirit, giving me access to You every moment of the day – thank You in Jesus name, AMENโ€ฆ May the glorious grace and mercy of the Lord Jesus Christ be with everyone. ๐Ÿ™โค๏ธ๐ŸŽš๐Ÿฉธ๐Ÿ“–๐Ÿ•Šโš“๏ธ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ’ฏโ˜๏ธ
