Week 36 – 2022

”For the report of your obedience has reached to all; therefore I am rejoicing over you, but I want you to be wise in what is good and innocent in what is evil. The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet.” Romans 16:19-20

The Apostle Paul finished his letter to the Romans by admonishing them to beware of false teachings. They should know what is good and avoid what is evil. If they do, they can be assured that God will crush Satan.
That admonishment applies not only to teaching, but to discernment between all kinds of good and evil. We live in an age when evil is presented to us in many various ways. Sometimes it is not just what is said, but what may be done to us. Since we have the inerrant Word of God, we can clearly know what is good and the evil that conflicts with it.
So, God assures us that He will crush Satan under our feet. But when? Hold fast to God’s sovereignty and understand that His timing is perfect. We may never see the crushing of Satan’s efforts to deceive or harm us. But, rest assured, it will come.
